Back in the swing of things

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 12, 2008, 7:47 PM

Well, it has been exactly a year since I last updated...good timing, Megan. Didn't even plan that...wow. Anyways, yes, I am elbow deep in clay this year which was never in my plans, but it's been an interesting experience. I'm also finally adapting printmaking to fit my style which has been a saving grace because I was starting to lose my mind because I never have time to draw otherwise. So, expect to see some lithography up in the near future that will be very reminiscent of my charcoal drawings. I'll probably keep putting up my ceramics too, despite the fact that they aren't my best, and maybe some of my paintings from last semester, who knows.

Other than that, life really couldn't be better than it is right now...unless I didn't have to go to school anymore. That would be sweet.

More later! Probably next year at this time! ;)

Me too! I've tried before to make my art deep and full of messages, but for the most part I like to make it all about the image and what the eye sees instead of the mind. I mean, you can look for hidden meanings if you like, but they probably aren't there.
~Lillyeyebrows:iconLillyeyebrows: Jan 18, 2006, 2:08:14 PM
Ha - I know exactly what you mean about the shopping thing...and yes, i think its the only way to look at art - does it catch my eye instantly? My art is all about that instant - there is nothing behind it, no great social comments or images - just itself.
~LittleGreySmudges:iconLittleGreySmudges: Jan 18, 2006, 1:56:45 PM
Yeah, I'm a slightly compulsive person. Things just catch my eye and make me love them instantly. It's really a problem when I'm shopping, but it works for art.
~Lillyeyebrows:iconLillyeyebrows: Jan 18, 2006, 1:50:38 PM
Hey...thanks for the fav - i only just loaded it hahaha...you certainly know what you like quickly - but isn't that the way art appreciation should be - instantaneous? Thanks again.
~LittleGreySmudges:iconLittleGreySmudges: Jan 15, 2006, 2:18:40 PM
Hmm...okay! But only you because I love you.
~Bauble:iconBauble: Jan 14, 2006, 9:16:12 AM

Sure thing, come to thinkof it, let's all take mistresses.
~LittleGreySmudges:iconLittleGreySmudges: Jan 11, 2006, 11:53:02 PM
Owie. That would hurt. Can I take a mistress like Monet instead?
~Bauble:iconBauble: Jan 11, 2006, 9:57:22 PM
You know, I bet no one ever told Van Gogh he was cute. Try cutting off one of your ears and see how people react.
~LittleGreySmudges:iconLittleGreySmudges: Jan 11, 2006, 12:02:38 AM
You....you....BAH.

I should just get a job illustrating childrens stories because that is the only place in the art world that there is room for the C-word.

*walks away grumbling*
~punawannaloha:iconpunawannaloha: Jan 10, 2006, 9:49:48 PM
o my dearest!!! okay, that's all for now!
~Bauble:iconBauble: Jan 10, 2006, 5:46:37 PM
I think what you have so far is rather amusing. It's that 'C'-word I'm not supposed to use.
~LittleGreySmudges:iconLittleGreySmudges: Jan 8, 2006, 5:05:36 PM
I'm working on it. Do you like what I have so far though?
